How we protect children

Wiki for Kidz is built for children aged 6 to 12. That is why child safety is not one feature among many — it is the foundation the whole site stands on. Here we explain exactly how that protection works.

What children never encounter here

  • No adverts
  • No comment sections
  • No accounts — children never have to register
  • No collection of children's personal data
  • No sponsor logos in the articles

How content is filtered

The protection works in two steps.

Before: unsuitable searches are blocked before any text is created. The filter handles misspellings, synonyms and slang — not just a list of banned words.

After: every finished article is reviewed by several independent AI models before it is published. If the system is unsure, nothing is published. We would always rather show too little than too much.

Human oversight

The technology carries out the review, but a person has the final say. Content is checked continuously through spot checks, and any adult can report an article to us.

Monthly safety report

Every month a report is compiled automatically on how the protection has worked: how much has been reviewed, what has been blocked and whether anything needed to be put right. Schools, local authorities and partners can request the report.
