Dog

Dogs are animals that came from wolves a very long time ago. People started living with wolves and training them thousands of years ago. Over time, wolves changed and became the dogs we know today. Dogs were the very first animals that people ever trained to live with them.

People chose dogs with special skills and looks they wanted. Some dogs are big and some are small. Some are fluffy and some have short fur. All dogs have the same bones except for their tails. Dogs have around 42 teeth and very strong jaws. Dogs can smell and hear much better than people can. But dogs cannot see as clearly as we can. People use dogs to help them hunt, guard homes, and do many other jobs.

Dogs talk to each other and to people in many ways. They use their eyes, their faces, and their whole bodies to say things. Dogs also use sounds like barking and howling. They pee on things to mark places that belong to them. Dogs have learned to understand what people want and need. This is why people call dogs their best friends.

There are hundreds of millions of dogs living all around the world. Dogs are the most loved pets in many countries. Some dogs live in nice homes with families. Other dogs live on the streets and take care of themselves. Dogs live almost everywhere on Earth where people live.
